5 Beauty Routine Resolutions

It’s mid January now, so where are you with your New Year’s resolutions? It’s funny, the whole “get fit”, “lose 20 lbs” (or 50 in my case), and “eat better” clichéd resolutions are usually never on my list, but as timing is everything (I’ve had a bad year), getting healthy has made my list this year. So far so good – down 6.6 lbs and I’ve eaten more kale and spinach than I have in the last year!

While losing weight, getting fit and eating better are all on my resolution list this year, I wanted to share my other “beauty related” resolutions that I would recommend to anyone looking to improve their beauty routine this winter.

  1. Use Under Eye Cream Morning and Night
  2. Keep Your Lips Moisturized
  3. Apply a Face Mask Once a Week
  4. Apply Foot Lotion Before Bed
  5. Use a Daily Facial Skin Booster

USE UNDER EYE CREAM MORNING & NIGHT
My Go-To: Ahava Gentle Eye Cream
The cold, dry weather plays havoc on our skin, especially the sensitive skin surrounding out eyes. It’s essential to keep our skin heavily hydrated and moisturized, especially our under eye area. This is one step that’s easy to forget and can seem a pain to do, but I assure you that you will notice a difference after applying eye cream morning and night for four weeks (smoother and brighter skin).

KEEP YOUR LIPS MOISTURIZED
My Go-To: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
Keeping with the whole “dried out skin” feeling in the winter, I don’t know about you, but my lips always feel dry. I find I can never have enough lip balms in my pockets, purses and desk drawers. Why is it that I own about 20 lip balms, and I never have one when I need one? Aside from the cold winter air, being inside with heating systems does not help our dry lips.

APPLY A FACE MASK ONCE A WEEK

This should really really be a goal throughout the entire year. Taking the time once a week to give back to your skin by way of a mask is not only great for your face, it also makes sure you’re giving yourself a little pampered time just for you.

USE FOOT LOTION ON REGULARLY

You might think that summer is the most important time to apply foot lotion because you’re wearing more open aired shoes, but this is a myth. In fact, taking care of your feet in the winter is actually more important because it helps prepare your feet for the summer when you’re wearing open aired shoes. Ideally put lotion on before bed and then wear cotton socks to keep the moisture in.

USE A DAILY FACIAL SKIN BOOSTER

A skin booster is the new skincare must these days among anyone worried about fine lines and wrinkles. Yes, it’s another extra step (apply after cleansing and before your facial serum), but hey, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be on our resolutions list!
